“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” - Plato⁣

Well, isn’t that an inspiring quote? The first time I read that, I thought “yes, it does.” Music can help us experience joy, happiness, sadness, peace, and calm. Or all at once when we need it! When I was a child, my parents could always tell how much music was an outlet for me. If I had a “bad day” I was at the piano and would play really fast and intense music. If I had a "good day," my music would sound smooth and serene. No matter what though, I would come out of those practice sessions feeling my best and excited for what was next. I was so fortunate to have music in my life!

Today, I feel equally as lucky. Not only am I still playing, but I also have the opportunity to teach other individuals how to play the piano. It makes me so happy to see a student - young or old - being excited about a new piece or playing something that is special to them. That is the most important part of playing the piano!

So with that said, if you play the piano, take a moment to just sit down and take it all in. Music is an incredible gift and something to take 100% joy from it. #lovewhatyoudo
