Piano Pieces Inspired by the Ocean
Here in Oregon City, I am so lucky to live only a couple of hours from the ocean! Without question, it is my most favorite place to relax. I find that I get overwhelmed by the beauty and variety of sounds - I can really appreciate how composers have been so inspired by the ocean! When I visit the coast, I can hear Ravel‘s Une Barque Sur L'Ocean and Chopin’s “Ocean” Etude when I walk the beach - which one depends on the day. Both are stunning works for the piano. I’m listing links so you can listen to both… can you hear the ocean in these pieces too?
