Be Your Own Motivation at the Piano
Being a professional musician has required A LOT of focus and dedicated practice over the years. I've had to motivate myself and not rely on others for this. I've generally been very eager and excited to sit down at the piano, but on the days when I needed a "boost," I would assign myself one simple and attainable goal to achieve during that practice session. Not only did this give me something to concentrate on, but it gave me a feeling of accomplishment at the end of my practice. That usually led to wanting to set another goal and then another goal, etc. So give this a try: set a very simple and attainable goal to achieve, write it down and motivate yourself to conquer it today. #beyourownmotivation
